We are in the process of building a new school for these children in Kenya. Currently they are attending school in the corrugated metal shack pictured on the right. As you can see they don't have enough desks, a chalkboard or proper lighting.
When our work is complete they will have a new school complete with desks, chalkboards, books, school supplies and an additional building that will be used to feed them hot lunch each day. Education for these beautiful children will provide them with opportunities that would other wise have been lost to them.
Cathy has already provided the funding for two new school blocks which are very near completion. The children were being taught outside under a tree since the existing school was unsafe for them to be inside. They sat on rocks because they had no school desks. A brand new desk costs $25.00 cdn., thanks to Cathy they have received 100 new desks but many more are required. To see the construction of these school blocks just click on "Project Photos"

The pictures above and below are children attending school in what amounts to a tin can. There is no light except from the small window and open doorway. No blackboard and in the hot African sun the temperature inside becomes unbearable. These smart, adorable children deserve so much more and that is why we are going to build them a brand new school!
Can you imagine our children having to attend school in a building like this? Their potential is limitless, and with a little bit of help just imagine what they may one day be able to achieve. With education they can transform their community.
